Gene Bagsic is graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines with a Bachelors Degree in Arts Major in Political Science (2000) and a Juris Doctor Degree, J.D. (2005). He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2006.
He moved to New Zealand in 2006 with his family and studied towards becoming a qualified lawyer here in New Zealand. In 2008, he was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court at Auckland. After admission, he worked in firms specialising in Maori Issues and Treaty of Waitangi claims. His other interests include Criminal Law with special focus on traffic and summary offences, and general Family Law.
In 2012, he became part of Garcia Law. As a support staff, he now manages Commercial and Immigration Issues both here in New Zealand and in the Philippines.
He is a current Legal Director of the New Zealand Philippines Business Council. He also supports the Filipino community in New Zealand.
As an avid traveler, he plans to go around the world and discover different places and culture.
